The historic city of Durham, with its famed universities and Cathedral, is stunning any time of year - but in autumn it is extra special. Not many see it from this vantage point though where the River Wear almost forms an island upon which Durham Cathedral sits proudly. In fact the name Durham comes from the old Norse name for hill 'Dun' and 'Helm' island
