Hardraw Force Waterfall
Hardraw Force Waterfall
A photo of Hardraw Force waterfall in the Yorkshire Dales and beyond in the Lake District by Stuart Hodgson, aka The Hiking Photographer (www.hikingphotographer.uk).
Hardraw Force, hidden within a wooded gorge in Wensleydale, is one of Yorkshire’s most awe-inspiring natural landmarks — and boasts the tallest single drop waterfall in England. The water plunges dramatically from a height of around 30 metres (100 feet) into a broad amphitheatre of layered rock, creating a scene that feels both powerful and ancient. Surrounded by mossy cliffs and woodland, the falls carry a timeless atmosphere — a place where you can feel the raw force of nature and the deep stillness that follows its roar.
